Little Ways to Appreciate Women Every day

Little Ways to Appreciate Women Every day

It’s Women’s Day and like everywhere else in the world, South Africa is celebrating it to acknowledge the efforts of women and to let them know that we are immensely thankful for them. Women’s Day is a day to appreciate and thank the women in our lives Whether it’s your mother, grandmother or aunt, your sister, your wife or daughter, or any other woman who has become a blessing in your life – or a random woman – they all deserve to be appreciated and to be reminded that without them you could have never been who you are today. It is said that behind every successful man there is a woman and it is certainly true, because women have the ability to put their needs above their own and support us selflessly. They help us and support us through life’s challenges on so many stages, they deserve to be appreciated. The least we can do is to appreciate them for all they do for us, try to understand them and respect them. The women in our lives deserve our utmost respect. We need to show them that their opinion matters to us and respected by us, their shortcomings are understood, and their efforts are appreciated. Appreciation does not need to come from grand gestures It is the small things, done with affection and admiration, that mean the most! A kind word, a sweet compliment, a considerate gesture can sometimes go a long way. Little things such as kind words, compliments, regular encouragement and acknowledgements can mean so much to women. Start giving their opinion importance and appreciate what they do. It is very easy for us...

CELEBRITIES POSE NUDE FOR CHARITY

Local celebrities bare all to raise awareness for their chosen charities in Marie Claire magazine’s 2017 ‘Naked’ issue, which is daring, provocative and body-positive. Nomzamo Mbatha looks stunning posing nude on the cover, for a worthy cause. “This year, the issue is concealed in an eye-catching gold bag – the process of unwrapping it to unveil the beautiful cover and what lies within the magazine is part of the delight. The intriguing and innovative visual appeal of this issue will disrupt the newsstands and is an inventive approach not seen before locally,” says Associated Media Group CEO, Julia Raphaely. “Previously the campaign was published in Marie Claire’s March editions, but this year we chose to roll it out in our July issue, to coincide with Mandela Day, because the message behind Mandela Day is simple: ‘everyone has the ability and the responsibility to change the world for the better’,” says Raphaely. “This year Marie Claire took a slightly different approach to previous years – in the past, the entire campaign was dedicated to one charity, in 2017 our celebrities are each supporting a single charity or cause – something close to their heart, that they feel strongly about, whether it be education, LGBT rights, animal welfare or women’s rights,” comments Marie Claire Features Editor Lynette Botha. Other celebrities who bare all include DJ Fikile Moeti, radio host Thando Thabethe, TV star K Naomi Noinyane, actors Nicole Fortuin and Omuhle Gela, models Sanele Xaba and Rosette Ncwana, performer Moonchild Sanelly, radio and TV personality Bailey Schneider, chefs Giles Edwards, Ash Heeger and Eric Bulpitt, digital entrepreneur Yoliswa Mqoco, artist Lady...

Honoring Legends- Andrew Mlangeni

Honoring Legends- Andrew Mlangeni

TUESDAY June 6, was a picture of all things bright and beautiful at Centurion Country Club. We were graced by South Africa’s young citizens and Golf enthusiasts from GA Rankuwa. The day ended as cheerful as it started with golf trainees being awarded their certificates. It is out of such little things that greater things are born. The June and Andrew Mlangeni Foundation is grateful to the Department of Sports and Recreation for bolstering the need for development of young golfers through the Golf Development Programme. Wednesday June 7, was yet another day of the golfing community, companies, the department and stakeholders coming together to rise to the occasion of raising the good values of the sport as well as showing their support to the work of the Foundation. It was equally a cheerful day. Today, we turn attention to acknowledge the talents of sportspeople through the Andrew Mlangeni Green Jacket. Congratulations to all recipients. While these cheerful moments are ours to cherish, we cannot forget the scourge of abductions, rapes, killings and the cruel deeds of perpetrators who continue to threaten, hurt, maim, rape and tear families by terrorising the lives of women and children within our communities. Death is stalking our homes, work places, places of leisure, shopping centres and centres of learning without an end. People behind these cruelties know that they live in a constitutional democracy where the right to live is one for us all. But what do these monsters do? They continue to use the fruits of our democracy, that grants the right of life to us all, to end the lives of...
