Five Reasons Why I love Gearbest

Five Reasons Why I love Gearbest

With a mission to become the leading online electronics seller, Gearbest is definitely breaking the barriers by offering a vast array of products from apparels to gaming and party supplies to outdoors & sports products. They might’ve become the favorite of many by only sticking to electronics, but they became one of the best by opting to offer products from different others areas. In other words, they have narrowed down the trouble of customers and gave them a platform where they can buy all products ‘Under one roof.’
Being a big shopping enthusiast myself, I discovered a hidden gem on the internet, an online store that sells everything from tech, clothes, hair, and makeup etc. – Ever since I started using it, I have become an avid customer of Gearbest. I mean who doesn’t like discounts and enticing deals, right? Having a picky nature means that I am not easily tempted. Then what factors played a decisive role for me? Well, here are 5 reasons why I have fallen in love with Gearbest:

(1) Fashion

If you are a fashion buff then I am pretty confident that you’ll find fashion products of Gearbest simply irresistible, it happened in my case! They have latest fashion products in clothing, bags, shoes, watches, beauty, fine jewelry, and fashion accessories. The most amazing thing I find about Gearbest is that they bring in all the trendiest fashion products. So, if it’s trendy, it is definitely available on Gearbest!

(2) Weaves and Wigs

Since Gearbest sells products at wholesale rates, you can find weaves and wigs at amazingly low rates. You’ll find a wide variety of quality hair extensions & wigs. There are finest-quality synthetic hair, Human hair wigs, hair extensions, hair accessories, lace front wigs, cosplay wigs and yes, there are men’s wigs as well. When you are getting quality weaves and wigs at reasonable rates then what more one can ask for!

(3) Makeup

With an exciting range of makeup products, Gearbest offers the best to its esteemed customers. Women can enhance their beauty with amazing makeup products at the most affordable price ranges. You can let your inner makeup artist come out with products such as makeup brushes & tools, eye makeup, face makeup, lip makeup, eyebrow makeup and various other products that can create a sheer mesmerizing impact on others.

(4) Mobile Phones

You can buy any type of mobiles, laptops, and products from China with free shipping. Now it’s easy to buy from a vast range of smartphones and products such as Xiaomi, Huawei, ZTE, DJI, and Anet at the lowest prices from Gearbest. These products are mostly sold globally but aren’t available in South Africa’s stores. But here’s the catch! You can buy any mobile on, and have it delivered to you within few days.

(5) Sales

We just adore sales, don’t we? And what’s not to love about sales – everything is available at the lowest rates possible. Normally, sales seasons come during special occasions, but at Gearbest, it is always a sales season. Even at this very moment, there is an ongoing sale such as 11.11 sale which offers up to 50% off on mobile gadgets, up to 60% off on electronic gadgets, up to 70% on lifestyle gadgets, and up to 20% off in the form of daily top discounts & special offers. And yes, you can pinch yourself since it is not a dream!

Well, now you know why I fell in love with Gearbest. They are highly addictive, but of course in a good way. All in all, it can be said that embracing Gearbest into my life is by far the best decision I have made in years.

An unsuspecting audience was blown away by a dramatic twist at the launch of the Fabiani SS17 collection at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Johannesburg last night, as women stepped out onto the runway instead of men, marking the launch of Fabiani Womenswear.

From intricate beadwork and high voltage metallics, to jacquard fabrics and bold silk chiffons complemented by statement make-up, the innovative new range of women’s clothing was received with an animated response from the audience. The collection reflects Fabiani’s unmistakably couture flavour, together with a graphic, tailored and feminine aesthetic, setting the pace for women’s fashion this season.

The pioneer behind the revolutionary new collection for the iconic brand is none other than highly acclaimed local designer, Warrick Gautier.

Based in Cape Town, Gautier is renowned for his work both locally and internationally, and his collaborations with brands such as Chloe and Louis Vuitton. Inspired by art and his French heritage, Warrick Gautier brings his signature tailored couture of African luxury to the Fabiani Women’s collection.
“We were inspired by the need in the South African market for luxury African clothing tailored for powerful, successful, progressive and sophisticated women. We couldn’t be more thrilled to be collaborating with local design talent such Warrick, as a uniquely African aesthetic is central to this collection,” says Lyle Paul, Marketing Manager of Fabiani.

In celebration of women’s month, the launch of Fabiani Womenswear marks the beginning of an exciting new era for the brand, established as an exclusively menswear label for nearly forty years.

Local celebrities bare all to raise awareness for their chosen charities in Marie Claire magazine’s 2017 ‘Naked’ issue, which is daring, provocative and body-positive. Nomzamo Mbatha looks stunning posing nude on the cover, for a worthy cause.

“This year, the issue is concealed in an eye-catching gold bag – the process of unwrapping it to unveil the beautiful cover and what lies within the magazine is part of the delight. The intriguing and innovative visual appeal of this issue will disrupt the newsstands and is an inventive approach not seen before locally,” says Associated Media Group CEO, Julia Raphaely.

“Previously the campaign was published in Marie Claire’s March editions, but this year we chose to roll it out in our July issue, to coincide with Mandela Day, because the message behind Mandela Day is simple: ‘everyone has the ability and the responsibility to change the world for the better’,” says Raphaely.

“This year Marie Claire took a slightly different approach to previous years – in the past, the entire campaign was dedicated to one charity, in 2017 our celebrities are each supporting a single charity or cause – something close to their heart, that they feel strongly about, whether it be education, LGBT rights, animal welfare or women’s rights,” comments Marie Claire Features Editor Lynette Botha.

Other celebrities who bare all include DJ Fikile Moeti, radio host Thando Thabethe, TV star K Naomi Noinyane, actors Nicole Fortuin and Omuhle Gela, models Sanele Xaba and Rosette Ncwana, performer Moonchild Sanelly, radio and TV personality Bailey Schneider, chefs Giles Edwards, Ash Heeger and Eric Bulpitt, digital entrepreneur Yoliswa Mqoco, artist Lady Skollie, fashion designers Lukhanyo Mdingi and Nicholas Coutts, tastemaker Seth Shezi, and trail runner Ryan Sandes.

As to why it is important for celebs to get naked for their individual chosen causes Botha says that as society, we look up to celebrities, influencers, sports people and the like, “it’s important for them to use their clout to alert people to social causes and how they can help. There are so many issues we face in South Africa, and by highlighting individual causes and charities this maximises the reach and impact of the campaign,” she adds.

For the first time this year, Marie Claire is holding an auction of the celebrity portraits, and all proceeds will go to the celebs’ various charities. The exclusive event will be held at Melrose Gallery in Johannesburg on Thursday, 13 July 2017.

Commenting on why Marie Claire’s annual Naked project is so important, Botha says: “It is important for all of us to do our bit, in any way that we can – not only to be activists on social media, but to actually get out there and do things that make a difference. Whether that be donating money or time, or actively campaigning for change.”

To make it easier for everyone to donate, the public can go on to the Marie Claire website (, select their chosen celebrity and cause, and use SnapScan to make a donation right there and then.

SA Fashion Week (SAFW) opened last night to a flurry of excitement, showcasing some of the most innovative and cutting-edge designs the South African fashion industry has to offer.

Woolworths launched their 2017 ‘StyleBySA’ seasonal campaign by championing home-grown talent, featuring a capsule collection by eight local designers who are taking the fashion scene by storm, namely Rich Mnisi, Thebe Magugu, AKJP, Pichulik, Maria McCloy, Sol-Sol, Selfi and Young & Lazy.

From modern streetwear, to footwear and accessories inspired by the continent, the debut collaboration was met with an overwhelmingly positive response. In a first for SAFW, the collection was available online straight from the runway, resulting in a frenzy of online sales throughout the evening.

The significant partnership between Woolworths and SAFW has prioritised fast-tracking South Africa fashion from the runway to the rails. Charmaine Huet, Woolworths’ Group Director of Marketing and Sustainability, says, “As a passionately South African retailer we want to boost the visibility and viability of local designers. The quality of the work on show last night, and the response to it, is compelling proof of the incredible local talent the South African fashion industry has on offer.’’ Having pioneered the concept of local design collaborations with their Stoned Cherrie, Craig Native and Maya Prass collections over a decade ago, it’s another step forward for the passionately local retailer.

The StyleBySA capsule collection will be available exclusively online at while stocks last this week. The collection launches in selected Woolworths stores (Canal Walk Shopping Centre, Cape Town; Sandton City Shopping Centre, Johannesburg; Mall of Africa, Midrand; Menlyn Mall, Pretoria; Gateway Theatre of Shopping, Durban) from 12 April 2017.

A Reason To Visit Sexpo SA This Weekend: Airvolution Body Art

Last night my sister and I came across a really cool stall at the Sexpo SA, not only were the people there looking super cool and sexy because of their tattoos but there were really cool visuals.

We went there and at first glance we thought someone was getting a tattoo but there was no needle involved, they were using an airbrush! After speaking to these guys we found out they do air rush tattoos- They make whatever you want look like a real tattoo, advantage of this, it’s not permanent! They even do full body painting making it look like you’re wearing something tight when you’re actually naked. They also do graffiti and mural painting – they did that on Cassper Nyovest’s “I hope you bought it” music video.

#TalentTuesdaySA: 1 – Up Close with photographer, Adrian Phipps.

“Photography is the universal language spoken by all”, the profoundness of this statement should never be trivialised as we are inherently visual creatures, shaping our realities through the things we see, leaving us changed forever. Buenos dias amigos, I’m Adrian, being a Linux engineer is what pays the bills but what really invigorates me is photography, the art of writing with light. During my recent backpacking trip through Peru and Bolivia I was pleasantly overwhelmed by the sights of the local Andean cultures, their art, their indigenous fashion and the undulating peaks and troughs of these mountain countries. As one of a few South Africans traveling in South America I had this undying urge to share these sights with my friends and family back home and so the seed to pick up the camera was sown. As soon as I returned to South Africa I bought myself an entry level DSLR and started shooting away, researching techniques and base skills needed to visually recreate images I’d seen and portray them to viewers hopefully leaving them moved and touching their emotions. I’ve only been plying my craft for under 3 months as the technical aspects, such as ISO, aperture and shutter speed are best learned in the field. Composition and making your photographs interesting are either innate but could also be honed by continuous shooting, as they say “Repetition is the father of learning”. The greatest revelation I had while overseas was that as South Africans we do not appreciate how magnificently beautiful our country is and this has inspired me to produce images of our country, in particular Cape... read more
