JAGUAR LAND ROVER PRESENTS WORLD-FIRST TWO ICONS TOUR

Jaguar Land Rover South Africa has launched the world-first Two Icons Tour experience, which will run from 9 September to 5 November 2017 on Sandton City’s rooftop. This exhilarating experience will give guests an opportunity to experience Jaguar’s Art of Performance Tour and Land Rover’s Above and Beyond Tour, like never before, in one location!

The Tour will give guests an opportunity to immerse themselves in various experiences across the two brands including self-drive and driven experiences, as well as other brand activities taking place at Sandton City.

Set in the now transformed parking area of Sandton City’s rooftop, Land Rover will be taking adventure to another level and will provide a variety of obstacles to challenge the capabilities of the latest vehicles and drivers bearing the Land Rover badge.

There’s no better way to get to know the elegant design and breath-taking performance of Jaguar than getting up close and personal with the vehicles. Skilful instructors will be on-hand to put the vehicles through their paces and provide a thrill-per-second Jaguar experience on the “Speed Route” and the “Ice Road”, showcasing the true Art of Performance.

Lisa Mallett, Marketing Director of Jaguar Land Rover South Africa and sub-Sahara Africa said:
“We are delighted that the Two Icons Tour, which has taken over 9 months of extensive planning, is finally here! The Tour is about giving guests the opportunity to experience all 11 of our models across the Jaguar and Land Rover brands. This will also include our new Range Rover Velar, the avant-garde Range Rover.”

To bring the Two Icons Tour to life, the Jaguar Land Rover crew members recorded over 2,700 labour hours of building the large-scale structure over 10 days. Furthermore, an additional 5,926 indigenous plants were brought in to the venue, which can be found along the “Land Rover Garden Route”.

Also forming part of the Two Icons Tour are world-class driving instructors from Land Rover Experience and Jaguar Experience. Established in 1995, Experience offers Jaguar and Land Rover customers an opportunity to bring the performance characteristics of the Jaguar brand and the outstanding capability of Land Rover vehicles to life. Professional driver training in a safe, controlled environment is available to customers giving them an opportunity to familiarise themselves with their new cars. These advanced driving instructors will be on hand throughout the Two Icons Tour, to show consumers the performance and capabilities of the Jaguar and Land Rover models on show.

In addition to the spectacular driving activities on the rooftop, Jaguar Land Rover will have additional touchpoints across various locations inside the Sandton City Shopping Centre. The activities include; a remote-controlled Land Rover Defender track, Jaguar Virtual Reality pods and the exclusive Jaguar F-TYPE sound booth that will give guests a sensory experience of the F-TYPE’s engine notes.

Mallett said:
“We encourage everyone to come and enjoy this unique experience. With a comprehensive line-up of our vehicles on our custom-made tracks and terrains, we push our vehicles to the limit and look forward to having our new and existing clients do the same – all in one venue.”

The Two Icons Tour will be supported by a number of great brands such as Samsung, Seattle Coffee, Häagen-Dazs and Hamleys have created a children’s play area, where they will be part of the magic whilst the adults put the vehicles to the test. The rooftop will also be home to the Jaguar and Land Rover retail outlet that will be open to the public to purchase their favourite branded merchandise.

The Two Icons Tour will run for 9 weeks from the Sandton City rooftop and will be open from 10h00 – 18h00 on Tuesdays to Saturdays and 10h00 – 17h00 on Sundays. The Tour will be closed on Mondays.
