Over 9 500 Color Runners participated in the Johannesburg leg. The subsequent social media explosion, with The #CapitecColorRun trending third on Twitter, is testament to the joy and excitement the event brought to participants. Local licence holder of The Color Run South Africa, Sportsvendo, maintains that the success of the event is attributable to remaining true to the worldwide ethos of the brand: “The Color Run is about being healthy, being happy, self-expression, and giving back,” says Sportsvendo CEO, Leon Swanepoel.

“Thanks to the generosity of our headline sponsor, Capitec Bank, R10 from every ticket sold for The Color Run is being donated to charity. In Johannesburg alone, we were able to raise in excess of R73 000 for Adopt-A-School, which makes the event so much more than a singular day of fun – it allows for longevity, which is extremely important to us at Sportsvendo, The Color Run, and Capitec,” says Swanepoel.

“Capitec Bank, like The Color Run, believes in health, happiness, individuality, giving back, living life in technicolour and having fun, while caring about the community,” says Charl Nel, head of communications at Capitec Bank.

Nel says, “We are so excited to share this magic with Pretoria on 31 October. We’re going to brighten the city, its Color Runners, and the community too. Be sure to check out our giant tackie in Pretoria which highlights our partnership and items purchased forAdopt-A-School. Take a photo using our hashtag and you’ll be automatically entered into our competition.”

Schools and individual charities can also use The Color Run to raise funds. Register your own school or charity on the Fun Raiser programme and raise money for every ticket sold under your unique Fun Raiser code.

Register a corporate team of five or more runners. Each corporate team gets a unique item of apparel to set it apart from the rest.

Jacaranda FM, The Color Run’s official radio partner, will be entertaining Color Runners at the epic finish festival. Keep your eyes on The Rekord, our official print partner, for updates and giveaways.
